The Formula 1 season saw a
dusty debut for the Valencia Street Circuit
this weekend, producing a bitter-sweet race day for Ferrari.
Felipe
Massa achieved maximum points with victory, only
to see fourth place team mate Kimi
Raikkonen's engine blow up 12 laps from the end of the race.
The
Brazilian controlled the race from pole, and finished a clear
five
seconds ahead of McLaren rival Lewis
Hamilton, with BMW's Robert
Kubica 3rd on the podium
Renault's Fernando
Alonso
was unable to please the home crowd, with a first lap retirement after
being rear-ended under heavy breaking by Williams' Kazuki Nakajima.
This result means McLaren's
Lewis Hamilton remains top of the driver standings, six
points ahead of Massa with Kimi Raikkonen in third place. Next stop Spa, Belgium.
